What is a Rzone Facility?
Rz in a non-intimidating fitness studio and was created to empower women who are seeking a more fit life, but who can’t find the help and support they need to be successful in traditional, mainstream membership clubs. We help the beginner, intermediate and advanced exerciser accomplish things they never thought possible while making lifelong friends.
What are Rzone Classes?
Rz classes are 50 minutes of energizing, heart rate monitored group training for Women Only, supervised by a fitness expert for proper form and motivation.
R group training is a body changing workout that combines the power of full body workouts and cardio training that torches calories with the energy, camaraderie, and fun of playing in a group.
Our unique format provides three to five workout zones, scripted and supervised by your trainer. Each workout zone provides a unique format for cardio intervals and strength training exercises. We integrate cardio interval training with blocks or circuits of exercises in every class, in order to deliver optimal results. If you can't perform an exercise, we will modify the exercise and provide you an alternative.
Is Rzone just for Women?
Yes, for ages 14 and over women of all different fitness levels workout under the supervision of a trainer. Rz is not a big-box gym where members often walk in anytime and exercise as they please. Classes at Rz are scheduled and well prepared to give you an amazing workout every time. Reservations are required. This is for quality control. We pride ourselves on being the only facility in the area providing group training for women only and providing adequate space to ensure a high quality of training and safety.
What are Polar Heart Rate Monitored Workouts?
This is the cool part. Our screens show you how awesome you are working out.
Heart Rate Monitored Workouts: which includes beats per minute, calories burned, the percentage of heart rate max. and intensity zones – appears onscreen at all times. The Polar Club provides constant visual feedback, which motivates participants to push themselves or ease off accordingly to achieve personal goals.
After the class, we use the summary report to show the training effect of the session. Additionally, you automatically receive a detailed training report, highlighting calories burned, time spent in each heart rate zone, and the training benefit of the workout session emailed to you. Make sure you download the Polar Apps: Polar Flow to review your results and your exercise history.
Clients are required to wear Polar Heart Rate Monitors. They can directly purchase from us at a discount when they become a client. We have 3 different options for you to choose from.
What are heart rate zones?
Your heart rate is one of the best indicators of how hard your body is working during a workout.
We all have a personal resting heart rate, “a minimum heart rate”, and a maximum heart rate. And between these values are different heart rate zones that correspond to training intensity and training benefit. There are different ways to specify your heart rate zones. One simple way is to define them as percentages of your maximum heart rate
There are five different zones, 1–5 and at Rz our workouts include all these five zones.
Zones 1-2 are for warming up and getting ready to work it. For effective calorie burning, we focus on Zones 3 to 5. This will bring your heart rate between 80% to 95%. This all depends on your fitness level. At zones 3-5 you’ll burn calories not just during the class, but hours after keeping your metabolism elevated. This is termed the ‘afterburn’ and its all based on your body composition, your exercise fitness level and the intensity you train at.
I haven’t worked out in a long time or I have never exercised. Can I still go?
Worried you’re NOT FIT ENOUGH? To that, we say “No, you’re not!”. You don’t need to try to keep up with anyone else. Just do your best work at your own comfort levels and your own edge - it’s not a competition. Can’t perform a particular exercise? No worries, we will give you a modified version. Follow your trainer's guidance and you’ll experience the most enjoyable and beneficial 50 minutes of your life, And you can't leave because we lock all the doors! Just Kidding.
What equipment do you use at Rzone?
We thought of our women when we put this program together years ago. For cardio programming and to be implemented with our awesome floor exercises, our studio has a variety of equipment including treadmills, Cybex arc trainers, WaterRowers and Airdyne Bikes. For strength training and to also help you burn calories, we have free weights, our wall of resistance bands, battle ropes, medicine balls, core-balls, stability balls and so much more. It’s the science and the creativity that make all this work together to make your workouts fun every time you come.
How early should I arrive for a Rzone class?
We ask that you arrive 15 to 30 minutes prior to your first class to go over your fitness goals, get you set up on our heart rate monitoring system and introduce you to you’re your trainer.
Is there a contract?
No annual contracts. You choose an affordable package that is right for you. The packages are month to month. We just require billing for a credit/debit card because chances are, you’ll love us and want to stay. Need to cancel? Just provide us a 15-day notice before your next billing and we will part ways with a smile and a hug if that’s okay.
Do I need to buy my own Polar Heart Rate Monitor?
When you participate in a FREE TRIAL, you will borrow a Polar Heart Rate Monitor. This is so you can experience the rz system. When you decide to join us, you’ll choose one of our discounted polar heart rate monitors. This way its always programmed for you, it fits you and it's HYGIENICALLY SAFE.
